An intramural, developmental program for players in grades 1 and 2. Games are played 7 v. 7 on a shortened field. The standard field positions for this age are two players at deep defense, two players at deep attack, and in the midfield a left and right wing, and one center. At this level, the emphasis is on learning lacrosse and having fun. While our league (MBGLL) has decided to have the U-9 teams play games each Sunday for the entire season, we have elected to keep this level local and will not be participating in league (travel) games. All U-9 teams will meet on Sunday mornings for games and also have one weekday afternoon practice. This age group wears t-shirts supplied by the program in lieu of uniforms.
Marblehead third and fourth grade teams travel to other towns for the first time and play 7 v 7 plus goalie. The goalie is optional, but most teams use a goalie. Coaches are permitted on the field but are prohibited from entering the 12 meter fan “area.”

This level for 7th and 8th grade girls is the final before moving on to high school. This group plays with 12 players per team and modified stick checking is permitted.
